Aerios cuts charter fuel quotes into flight planning systems
Aerios integrates Jeppesen ForeFlight, PPS and NAVBLUE N-FP into its charter quoting platform, claiming 10–15% better fuel burn precision than DCT and GCD estimates.
Read-back
- Aerios integrates Jeppesen ForeFlight, PPS and Airbus NAVBLUE N-FP flight planning systems into its quoting workflow.
- Detailed flight planning routing improves fuel burn precision by 10–15% versus DCT and GCD estimates, the company says.
- CEO Simon Watson cited high jet fuel prices and a soft charter market as drivers for quoting accuracy.
- Aerios shipped an AI quotation module in January, a CargoAi rate integration in February and a ULD/pallet optimisation tool in April.

Charter technology firm Aerios has integrated three flight planning systems — Jeppesen ForeFlight, PPS and Airbus NAVBLUE N-FP — into its quoting platform, bringing operational-grade fuel burn data directly into the charter sales workflow.
The integration pulls aircraft performance, flight routing, weather and wind, block time and fuel burn into the quotation process. Aerios then combines the fuel burn figures with carrier-specific fuel pricing to calculate fuel costs automatically.
The company frames the development as a fix for a structural trade-off in charter sales. Brokers quoting on a project typically choose between a "rough but fast estimate of fuel burn" or waiting for more accurate data at the "cost of a slower response that risks losing the opportunity."
"Striking the right balance between speed and accuracy can make or break a deal," Aerios said.
Why does estimation accuracy matter now?
Aerios founder and chief executive Simon Watson tied the product release to market conditions: "With jet fuel prices high and the charter market soft, accuracy matters more than ever. Sales teams can't afford to wait on Dispatch, overquote and lose the opportunity, or underquote and erode margin."
According to the company, charter sales teams typically estimate fuel burn using direct routing (DCT) and Great Circle Distance (GCD) calculations. These rely on "simplified routing assumptions" that can materially underestimate flight time and fuel burn.
Detailed routing from flight planning systems gives a more realistic view of the route, block time and fuel burn. Aerios puts the precision gain at 10–15% over the simplified method.
The cost of that accuracy has been speed. "But it's slower, as sales teams trawl through disparate systems and manually contact dispatch departments, introducing delays they can't afford," the company said.
What else does the pricing tool do?
Beyond the flight planning integration, the Aerios app lets users:
- Maintain contracted fuel prices within the platform
- Import updated supplier pricing via CSV
- Override pricing manually when needed
The company positions this as removing the manual reconciliation between dispatch-derived fuel figures and the pricing data held by sales teams.
How does this fit Aerios's wider roadmap?
The fuel calculation system is the latest in a series of technology investments Aerios has made this year.
In January, the company launched an Artificial Intelligence module intended to create efficiencies by automating responses to charter requests.
In February, Aerios partnered with booking portal provider CargoAi to integrate real-time rate and capacity data into its charter quoting tool.
In April, it added a ULD and pallet optimisation tool, developed with Wiremind, into its carrier app to tackle cargo loadability issues.
Together, the four updates point to a strategy of consolidating quoting, pricing, capacity and loadability into a single platform, reducing the number of separate systems a charter sales team must consult before responding to a request.
Whether the 10–15% accuracy gain translates into measurably higher quote win rates will depend on adoption across brokers and carriers operating in a soft market where margins on mispriced fuel are unforgiving.
