easyJet will launch 18 new routes from the United Kingdom for Summer 2027, announced on September 24, 2026, with Spain taking six of the additions — including the carrier's first-ever flights to Girona-Costa Brava, an airport that has traditionally served as a Ryanair base.

The program leans heavily toward leisure destinations along the Mediterranean coast, extending easyJet's short-haul footprint into airports where competitors have long held the ground.

Where does easyJet land first?

Girona (GRO), in northern Catalonia, is the most consequential addition. Ryanair has historically based aircraft at the airport and markets it as an alternative gateway to Barcelona. easyJet will connect Girona to Liverpool John Lennon (LIV) twice weekly from March 28, 2027, and to London Gatwick (LGW) three times weekly from June 3.

Aberdeen (ABZ) receives the batch's only UK–Barcelona link: the first scheduled service between Aberdeen and Barcelona (BCN), twice weekly from March 31, 2026. Aberdeen also gains a twice-weekly nonstop to Palma de Mallorca (PMI).

Two further Spanish routes round out the Iberian expansion:

  • Liverpool (LIV) to Murcia (RMU), twice weekly
  • Edinburgh (EDI) to Bilbao (BIO), twice weekly

What does the wider network look like?

Southern France and Corsica receive two new twice-weekly services, both starting at the end of June 2027: London Gatwick to Ajaccio Napoleon Bonaparte (AJA) and Manchester (MAN) to Bastia (BIA).

Bristol gains two routes: twice weekly to Montpellier from July 1, 2027, and to Burgas (BOJ) on Bulgaria's Black Sea coast from May 28, 2027.

Italy takes two new links in March: Milan Malpensa to Birmingham (BHX) and Rome Fiumicino (FCO) to Edinburgh, both twice weekly.

Which destinations sit outside the Mediterranean?

Edinburgh also gains services to Tivat (TIV) in Montenegro and to Hamburg (HAM) — the only northern European destination in the entire batch of 18.

Greece coverage from the London market grows with two launches: London Southend (SEN) to Rhodes (RHO) from April 27, 2027, and London Luton (LTN) to Thessaloniki (SKG) from May 1, 2027.

The north of England gets a new Cyprus connection. easyJet will reinforce its newly announced Newcastle (NCL) base with a weekly route to Larnaca (LCA) starting March 31, 2027.

Why Girona matters

The Girona move places easyJet in direct competition with Ryanair at an airport the Irish carrier has used for years as a Barcelona-proxy operation. Liverpool and Gatwick frequencies — two and three weekly respectively — are modest, but they give easyJet a test of demand at a base it has never served.

The broader pattern is consistent: nearly every new route targets sun-and-sea capacity for the UK leisure market, with weekly frequencies of two to three on almost all services. The Newcastle–Larnaca weekly flight and the early March 2026 start of Aberdeen–Barcelona are the outliers in timing and density.

All 18 routes will roll out between March 2027 and July 2027, with easyJet's Summer 2027 program now extending its reach into at least three airports — Girona, Ajaccio and Bastia's UK links among them — that broaden the carrier's Mediterranean exposure.
