Romanian cargo carrier Mister Air has begun own-operated flight operations with a Boeing 757-200PCF leased from AerSale Corporation, with the freighter scheduled to enter revenue service this October. The delivery converts Mister Air from a capacity-chartering customer into an operator flying under its own air operator certificate and crew.
Why does the aircraft matter?
The 757-200PCF is the first of more freighters Mister Air intends to introduce as it builds a dedicated medium-haul fleet. AerSale, a US-based aftermarket supplier of commercial aircraft, engines and proprietary engineered solutions, completed the passenger-to-freighter conversion before delivering the aircraft on lease.
"The 757 remains one of the most capable and sought-after platforms in its segment, and this transaction reflects both the strength of that asset class and AerSale's ability to deliver flight-ready aircraft to operators pursuing ambitious growth," Craig Wright, AerSale's senior vice president and head of asset management, said.
What is the operational footprint?
Mister Air holds a Romanian air operator certificate but is based at Łódź Władysław Reymont Airport (LCJ) in Poland. Its flight operations are managed by Łódź-headquartered AerCommerce, a cargo charter and brokerage provider that has handled Mister Air's commercial relationships until now. The 757 will deploy on behalf of AerCommerce's established customer base.
The carrier runs scheduled and ad-hoc freighter services focused on express e-commerce and parcel cargo on lanes connecting Asia, the Middle East and Central and Eastern Europe. With AerCommerce still controlling sales and customer relations, the launch positions Mister Air as a capacity provider within an existing brokerage platform rather than a standalone operator competing for shipper accounts.
Which markets is Mister Air targeting?
Mister Air is positioning the 757-200PCF for "middle-mile" routes connecting major production and e-commerce gateways across Central and Eastern Europe. AerSale framed the 757's combination of long range, high payload and operational reliability as the core fit for a segment where widebody frequencies would be uneconomic and narrowbody freighters would lack payload or range.
What comes next?
Mister Air chief executive Ireneusz Dylczyk tied the lease to fleet expansion and a shift in Mister Air's commercial model. "This Boeing 757-200PCF marks an important milestone in Mister Air's growth and the launch of our own flight operations," Dylczyk said.
"The 757's range and payload make it the ideal aircraft for our customers. AerSale proved to be a professional and responsive partner throughout the process. This aircraft lays the foundation for the additional freighters we intend to introduce as we scale our network," Dylczyk added.
The transaction extends AerSale's run of 757-200PCF placements into the European express-cargo segment. It gives Mister Air its first balance-sheet-controlled lift, with the operator's medium-term network scale now tied to additional 757 placements still to be confirmed.
