Qantas has extended its new routes to London and Paris, broadening the Australian flag carrier's European network beyond its established gateway operations.

The airline confirmed the expansion to both capitals, adding capacity on the Europe–Australia corridor, one of the longest-haul competitive markets in global aviation. Executive Traveller first reported the development.

London has long anchored Qantas's European presence. The carrier has historically served the city through its Singapore gateway and, more recently, through Perth on nonstop Boeing 787 (the manufacturer's long-range twin-aisle) services. Paris returned to the Qantas network as part of the carrier's post-pandemic European rebuild.

What does this change for passengers?

For travellers, the extension means additional frequency and routing options between Australia and two of Europe's largest inbound markets, rather than a wholly new destination pair. The move consolidates the airline's recovery strategy in Europe, where capacity remains below pre-2020 levels across most Asian and Gulf competitors alike.

For Qantas, the decision ties European growth to fleet availability. Long-haul expansion depends on the carrier's widebody fleet, including the 787 and the Airbus A330, and on delivery schedules that have slipped across the industry.

Qantas has not yet published full schedule details for the extended services, including start dates, frequencies or aircraft assignments. Those specifics will determine the practical capacity gain on the London and Paris routes.

Further schedule and fare details are expected as the airline loads the extended services into its reservation systems.
