Emirates will operate the Airbus A350 on all four of its daily flights to Vietnam by December 1, 2026, converting its entire Vietnamese capacity to the carrier's newest widebody type within a single month.
The airline announced on October 28, 2026 that a second daily A350 service between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Ho Chi Minh City's Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) begins November 1, 2026, operating as flights EK364/365. From December 1, 2026, the A350 takes over both daily services between Dubai and Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport (HAN), on flight pairs EK394/395 and EK388/389.
The December rotation marks the A350's debut in Hanoi. It also brings Emirates' Premium Economy cabin to the Vietnamese capital for the first time, closing a product gap on a route previously served without the intermediate cabin.
What does the change mean for Vietnam traffic?
The deployment standardizes the onboard product across Emirates' Vietnamese network. Country Manager of Emirates Vietnam Wahid Albalooshi said: "Vietnam continues to be an important market for Emirates, and these enhancements build on the airline's ongoing investments here."
Albalooshi noted that Emirates launched flights to Da Nang International Airport (DAD) in 2025, giving the carrier three Vietnamese gateways alongside Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The A350 assignments currently cover the two largest of the three; Da Nang is not part of the announced switch.
The move also aligns Vietnamese routes with the wider A350 network. The change gives travelers a more consistent experience, "not only between Vietnam and Dubai, but also to other popular cities served by the Emirates Airbus A350," Albalooshi said. Emirates is deploying the type across multiple regional markets in the same window; the A350 with the new Business Class cabin takes over the Mauritius route from November 1.
Inside the Emirates A350
The A350 is the newest aircraft type in Emirates' all-widebody fleet. It seats 298 passengers across three cabins: Business, Premium Economy and Economy.
Business Class uses a 1-2-1 layout, giving every passenger direct aisle access. The fully lie-flat seats include a personal minibar and wireless charging, and passengers can serve themselves refreshments from a snack area at the rear of the cabin.
Premium Economy offers leather reclining seats with extra legroom, adjustable headrests, in-seat charging and a 13.3-inch screen. Economy Class seats carry 13.3-inch 4K touchscreens running the airline's ICE inflight entertainment system (Emirates' seatback entertainment platform).
For the Vietnamese market, the configuration shifts capacity economics: 298 seats per departure across all four daily frequencies, with a three-cabin product previously unavailable on the Hanoi route.
Entry rules for Vietnamese travelers
Vietnamese passport holders may qualify for a UAE visa on arrival if they hold a valid residence permit from the United States, the United Kingdom, an EU member state, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan or South Korea.
Travelers holding a valid US, UK or Schengen visit or tourist visa, as well as US Green Card holders, may also qualify. Emirates advises passengers to verify current UAE entry requirements before travel, as conditions apply.
With the Hanoi switch on December 1, 2026, Emirates will fly the A350 on every seat it offers to Vietnam's two largest cities, completing a fleet-type consolidation it began on the Ho Chi Minh City route in November.
