HAECO has signed maintenance agreements with All Nippon Airways, Japan Airlines and Garuda Indonesia, extending the Hong Kong-based MRO group's hold on heavy airframe, landing-gear and engine work for three of Asia-Pacific's flag carriers.

The ANA deal runs through 2030 and covers landing-gear overhaul services for the carrier's Boeing 777-300ER and 777 freighter fleets. HAECO will perform the work at its dedicated landing-gear facility in Xiamen. The contract expands an airframe maintenance relationship between the two companies that dates to 1997 — a partnership that hit a milestone in June 2025, when HAECO processed ANA's 500th aircraft input at Xiamen Gaoqi International airport.

"As we continue to optimise the performance and reliability of our Boeing 777 fleet in the region, we are pleased to extend our partnership with HAECO," says ANA vice-president supply chain operations Tsuyoshi Yazaki.

The JAL agreement is the largest of the three in scope. HAECO has extended its long-running base maintenance contract with the Japanese carrier through 2033, covering JAL's Boeing 737, 767, 777 and 787 fleets together with its Airbus A350s. The contract is expected to encompass more than 180 aircraft inputs.

The two companies have partnered on base maintenance in Xiamen for more than two decades and have completed over 430 aircraft inputs to date. Operations are scheduled to move to HAECO's new facility at Xiamen's Xiang'an International airport when it opens at the end of 2026 — a capacity shift that underpins the expanded commitment.

HAECO chief commercial officer Gerald Steinhoff says trust built over two decades of base maintenance in Xiamen has enabled the collaboration to grow into line maintenance services in Hong Kong.

Garuda Indonesia, meanwhile, has signed a contract with HAECO Engine Services (Xiamen) covering performance restoration shop visits for three GE Aerospace GE90 engines through 2028. The Indonesian flag-carrier's commitment builds on an initial agreement established in 2025, which marked HAECO's first direct engine services contract with an airline in the Asia-Pacific region. Under that agreement, HAECO has completed two GE90 shop visits and one quick turn, with two additional engines currently in shop visits.

"Expanding strategic collaboration with HAECO will help strengthen fleet readiness and ensure operational reliability," says Garuda Indonesia director of maintenance Mukhtaris Aris.

For HAECO, the three contracts consolidate a multi-decade position in Xiamen just as the MRO prepares to shift heavy checks into the new Xiang'an facility, with ANA landing-gear work, 180-plus JAL airframe inputs and a growing GE90 engine book running in parallel through the end of the decade.
